“Finalmente pubblico questa raccolta di dieci brani, di cui otto scritti di getto nell'arco dell'anno 1993 e presentati allo stesso Metheny nel '95, al termine del concerto di "We Live Here", con richiesta di consenso per una eventuale pubblicazione di un libro di partiture a scopo didattico che mi diede senza alcuna esitazione. Mi disse solo di verificare la disponibilità delle edizioni a pubblicare, cosa che feci subito. Purtroppo, con motivazioni di eventuale scarso profitto economico, non ebbi il consenso dalla casa editrice. Così questi manoscritti rimasero chiusi nel cassetto fino all'estate del 2021 quando, deciso a portare al termine l'impresa, ho studiato, trascritto, registrato audio e video di tutti gli otto brani più due, "Daybreak" (1979) e "Follow me" (1997) aggiunti di recente divenuti apertura e chiusura del Book che finalmente è ora terminato assieme al disco ora pubblicato su "Bandcamp". Da qui il titolo "Thirty Years Later" suggeritomi dall'amico pittore, musicista grafico e molto altro Danilo DiPrizio che ringrazio per l'originale copertina realizzata per il CD.
